On Saturday Derek, Dexter, and I went to my father-in-law’s house to have a late Father’s Day celebration. My family came down from Maryland and we enjoyed a leisurely afternoon, swimming and hanging out. My father-in-law grilled ribs which we enjoyed along with delicious comfort food and dessert that my mom and I made.
It was Dexter’s first time in a pool and since he didn’t cry, I’m going to say that maybe he liked it. He’s now 10 weeks old and we got the all clear to let him swim as long as he didn’t stay in the pool too long.
I didn’t want to risk him burned so I tried to cover him up as much as possible. If you’re on Instagram, you might’ve seen the video I posted of him on a flotation device, being led around the pool by Derek. A few people have ask me where I got it. I found it on Amazon, here’s the link. The minimum age is technically 3 months so it was a little big for him but he was strapped to it so overall it worked well.
I got Dexter a rashguard and swim trunks from Old Navy with UPF 50 for some UV protection on his body since he’s too young for sunscreen. Also found out that there are special swim diapers that have a crazy amount of absorption, they worked well!
I got him the cutest aviator sunglasses but I can’t remember where I got them. He looked so cool in them though and I put them on him whenever I take him outside.
For the past few weeks I haven’t been as active on here or Instagram as I have been in the past because I’ve been totally focused on Dexter and enjoying our little family. I’ve been slowly working on getting my new, self-hosted site up and running which I’m hoping to release within the next few weeks. Yay! I go back to work in two weeks at which point I’ll also be going back to the gym more often. Being in a routine always helps me to be my best so I’ll be getting back to posting more engaging, helpful content revolving around workouts, healthy recipes, tips, and tricks. Stay tuned!
