Happy Monday and welcome to my series, Monday Meal Tip, where I share a tip to making healthy eating easier, faster, and delicious.
I’ve talked about how vegetable prep takes so much time, chopping, dicing, ricing, etc. Depending on how many vegetables you prep and the type of prep , it can take more time than actually cooking the meal. I utilize any short cut I can find to reduce the time it takes to prep vegetables.
The Meal Tip
Most grocery stores sell vegetables that are already prepped, take advantage of it! You can find them in either the produce section or frozen foods aisle. It may cost a little more than buying the produce in it’s original form but if you can work it into your budget, it’s worth it in my opinion. I recommend looking in the frozen foods aisle first because the price is usually more affordable and the produce is frozen at the peak of freshness so the quality is just as good as the options in the produce section.
Prepped Veggies I’ve Found
Diced Yellow Onions Diced Red Onions
Halved Brussels Sprouts Cubed Potatoes (Red and White)
Diced Bell Peppers Sliced Bell Peppers
Cubed Butternut Squash Riced Cauliflower
Minced Garlic Chopped Herbs
I used to overlook these and focus on just the whole produce but one day I decided to give some a try and I haven’t looked back. On your next shopping trip, acquaint yourself with your grocery store’s options to see what’s available and how you can save yourself time.
